Is Jesus Real

One question I seem to run into as of late is this - Is Jesus Real (genuine, authentic, factual, true) and if so how do we know? Hollywood has its take on this question. Different church organizations and denominations all have their take on this question as well.  Some say he is, some say he is not and some don’t even believe he existed at all. What is true? Is Jesus a figment of someone’s imagination or is he real?

If he is real shouldn’t there be proof of his existence? I say yes. It’s nice to say yes but how can we verify this statement. How can you verify something you believe that might not be seen to the natural eye?

One way and certainly not the only way we make Jesus real (genuine, authentic, factual, true) is through us by our actions. We are the shining light and proof that Jesus is real. How we live our lives either will give proof that Jesus is real and alive or, it will not. Especially as we come into contact with those who are seeking this truth. If we truly follow after Jesus and his teachings we will not be like everybody else, we will not react the same as everybody else does in situations and because of that we will stand apart.

One thing that makes us different is the love of God and that love according to Romans is poured out in our hearts. Our Father is Love, Jesus is love. If He is Love we have to ask ourselves is Love real? If love is real and He is love then Jesus has to be real.

Most people either can quote or have seen from some football game John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

The sad point is many of us come up short in our love walk. However, if we would simply practice what we know to be true in 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 on a daily basis more people would come to know the reality of Jesus – Who  is Love.

1 Corinthians 13:4-8 tell us in simple English our responsibilities through our actions that can help people see Jesus is real.
·         God’s love in us endures long
·         God’s love in us will always be patient and kind;
·         God’s love in us will never be envious
·         God’s love in us will never be jealous
·         God’s love in us will never be boastful
·         God’s love in us will never be  conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride);
·         God’s love in us will never be  rude (unmannerly)
·         God’s love in us will never not act unbecomingly.
·         God’s love in us does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self-seeking;
·         God’s love in us is not touchy or fretful or resentful;
·         God’s love in us takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong].
·         God’s love in us does not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness, but rejoices when right and truth prevail.
·         God’s Love in us  bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything [without weakening].
·         God’s love in us never fails [never fades out or becomes obsolete or comes to an end].

Remember People will see Jesus through your eyes and they will see that Jesus is real is through your life and lifestyle. How you treat people, how you live how you act can either promote the reality of Jesus or can hinder it. I choose to promote Jeuse through a healthly lifestyle of love...
