Its  a new year! 2010 has come and gone and what a wonderful power filled year 2010 was. Even though it was glorious in its own right there were still setbacks and we had many opportunities to see the hand of God work in our lives.  Many times it looked as though destruction would over take us but the one thing I learned throughout this past year was the faithfulness of our God. Many times things did not end up the way I thought it would but, the outcome was always in our favor.

2010 brought with it a wave of God's glory that not only could be felt but seen as well. In the meetings we were able to attend and be a part of, heaven was on earth for a short time and it was remarkable what God did. Lives were touched, sick bodies healed, sinners running to the alter, the saints refreshed in the presence of God and the Holy Spirit poured out among his people.

What exciting times we live in and as 2010 is now closed we turn our attention to 2011. I believe 2010 was a forerunner to what God is doing in the earth in this present day and 2011 will be another exciting year in God. Whatever you are going through never quit or give up even when it looks like all is lost. God is faithful!

That is my lesson from last year that I move forward with today. In my darkest bleakest moments God was there and when I wanted to quit and give up, His Spirit was always stirring in my heart not to do so. There were many opportunities for me to just say enough is enough and truthfully I might have done that a few times this last year. BUT GOD, proved himself faithful time and time again when I wondered in my own self how we were going to get out of this mess.

The old saying well just trust God sometimes is easier said then done however, the other old saying never retreat and never surrender is something I have learned to live by. There might be times when it looks like you are being outflanked by the enemy and it looks as though you are having to retreat  but never surrender. Remember the story of Elisha and his servant where it looked like they were out numbered and out flanked and Elisha prayed that the eyes of his servant would see whom was fighting with them and the statement was then made - There is more of us than of them! You are never alone and God is faithful!
2 Kings 6:15-17
  • 15 And when the servant of the man of God was risen early, and gone forth, behold, an host compassed the city both with horses and chariots. And his servant said unto him, Alas, my master! how shall we do?
  • 16 And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.
  • 17 And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.
Then there is the story in 2 Chronicles 20 with Jehoshaphat and the armies that rose against him. The bible tells us he spent time seeking the Lord for his answer and then was obedient to honor God by doing what the Spirit of God instructed him to do and in the end God delivered him.
Be encouraged God has an answer to everyone of your situations. Be patient and over time you will see your victory come about. No conflict is generally won in the first hour or day of any war but over time it does come to pass to the prevailing army. Our commander in chief tells us greater is he that is in us than he that is in the world and if you will not faint or quit YOU WILL WIN!. Make 2011 your year of no retreat or surrender and see what God will do!!!

  2. Well said Mike. You sure this isn’t about me!? We have a great many things to be thankful for and our trials bring us to a greater realm of trust in our God. It’s no fun going through them but then again, we were never guaranteed a rosy walk in this life. We do have the assurance that the Lord would stay with us through all and that He would deliver us and give us power over all the works of the enemy. We need to develop our faith and learn to stand on His word. I’m glad we could go through things in fellowship with one another. It makes things much more tolerable. God is great to raise us high above all tribulations and trials and lead us to the victory. Thanks bro. AC.
